Classic Car Experience was founded in 2006 by husband and wife, Lee and Lisa Brignull.

Cantabrian born and bred, Lee, grew up in the rural Kaiapoi area (north of Christchurch) before moving into the city with Lisa in 2005. Lisa adds an international flavour to the company being a South African born Italian with a taste for travel.

Lee has had love affairs with three Italians in the past, but Lisa being the first one without any rust sent him hurriedly buying a set of rings to prove his affection! Lisa's Italian blood still flows strong, as her 'wee baby' is an Alfa Romeo 147 in what other colour than red! Also, Lisa's career as a Travel Agent adds invaluable knowledge for our International guests as well as Kiwi's wanting to plan an exciting Classic Experience of their own.

Lee had been thinking of a rental car company of some description for many years, and after several conversations with an old friend it was decided that Classic Cars was the obvious choice - after all, owning a 'modern' car was something Lee had never done!

Ever since Lee was 'knee high' he has had a passion for anything with an engine in it. He thinks he must have driven his father mad with 'what's this for Dad?' and 'what's that do Dad?' He remembers almost hoping the Rotary Hoe or Lawn Mower would break down so he would have an excuse to strip it down!

Boys will be boys!As a teenager, Lee's first vehicle was a Honda motorcycle, (a passion which still takes up space in the garage today), soon after the first cars followed - being two non-running Morris Minors for $500.00.
The challenge - to make one good car out of two!
(The Morrie in its early stages - needing a good paint job!)

Much of Lee's working career has been spent in different aspects of the motor trade. From owning his own lawn mower shop at the age of 19, then moving onto motorcycle mechanic, automotive mechanic, engine reconditioning, and in later years - car parts and accessories.
After taking time out to go travelling overseas (where he met his future wife, Lisa) Lee returned home full of energy and ready to take on the challenge of building a business, where he could combine his knowledge and love of old vehicles with the satisfaction of witnessing others enjoy them too.

We hope that you will enjoy our cars as much as we do - and look forward to welcoming you back again in the future!

........So, if your passion is old cars, or just something a little different, come share the fun of driving the way it was meant to be........
