Lee couldn't be happier with his purchase of this TR6. After always admiring the TR6's great looks but never being able to justify the expense of purchasing one, ownership for Lee was always just a dream. But now with the need to keep Classic Car Experiences customers happy, a TR6 was first on the shopping list!.

The TR6 was in production from 1968 through until 1976. It owes most of its underpinnings to the previous TR5 model,  but a fantastic restlye on the outer body by Karmann of Germany, meant that the appearance was altered sufficiently enough to give it another fantastic lease on life.

Our TR6 has had a very busy life travelling around the planet. Lets see if we have this right, it was sold new in the United States in 1976. Somewhere in those early years it was purchased by a MR Hill, a Englishman living in the States. He then moved back to England and took it with him, and then went Stateside again and took it with him yet again, and yes you guessed it, he then moved back to England and took it along for the ride again!!. OK so how did it get to New Zealand?. Well he had it converted to RHD in England as he wasn't going Stateside again, and then his son Bruce Hill was immigrating to New Zealand and he bought it over along with his family. We in turn purchased it off of Bruce as he was heading back to England and wasn't sure it was worth to expense of shipping it back home again!!!!. Phew!

As you can see our TR6 has done a lot of miles without even turning a wheel. She did have a body off chassis rebuild when first imported to NZ to keep the certifying boys happy, but unfortunately things were let go quite a bit after that. Lee spent many many hours bringing her up to the required  standard for hire, but like any labour of love it's all worth it once you have the finished product  - and in this case a great looking car!

Sometimes you just need to have the hood up!
